Dare to wear

On nights out most of us girls like to dress up to the nines, showing off our newly toned legs or sometimes more... Now Winter is upon us, somehow my mothers cursing 'you'll catch your death in that outfit' or 'where is your coat?' is starting to configure and is no longer being ignored.

Countless times i have been stood in a queue huddled together with my nearest and dearest, wishing i had put on that extra layer or listened to my mothers nagging, yet i have never learnt or acted upon it.

Until now...

Whilst my friends were complaining of the cold, i was oblivious - more concerned about how much my feet were aching and how i wished i had a put a pair of flat shoes in my bag. As girls, we will always have something to complain about on a night out (feet, cold, hair or make-up) but as far as i am concerned trousers are the solution to cold Winter nights!

Fashion's Night Out - Top of the shops

One of the best events in the fashion calender hits the streets of the West End this week and you can be part of it for free!

Fashion's Night Out is taking place throughout the World's most fashionable cities on 8th September from 6pm to 11pm in key shopping locations. From High Street to Designer, there is something for everyone and it promises to be the best-dressed night out of the year!

The Sunday Times Style - spot the mistake!

The Sunday Times Style is known in the fashion industry as one of the best Sunday supplements.

Imagine my surprise when i noticed this glaringly obvious mistake on 'The Real Deal' page!

In Wonderland...

Alice in Wonderland fever has hit the UK it is official. After queuing for 30 minutes to see the Tim burton adaptation, i thought to myself 'this better be worth it!' As with all Tim Burton films it didn't disappoint, and i was sucked into Alice in Wonderland mania.

Topshop had an array of jewellery including teapots and madhatters on theme, but who wants the same as everyone else these days? I was extremely excited to discover ringmasters boutique who have gorgeous bespoke pieces for under £25, including this fab Alice in Wonderland clutch bag, made out of an old book. You can imagine how disappointed i was when i found out the designer had sold out!

Here are some of my other favourites, amazingly, all made from old books! I could potentially buy them all, but would then potentially be very broke.

I am going to 'invest' as after all, i am recycling...

Topshop's Top Tints

D.A.R.K can reveal that Arcadia's Topshop is to launch a make up range this spring consisting of basic make-up products, such as eye-shadows, eye pencils and skin tints that coincide with the trends of the season.

As a full frontal fan of the brand it seems a natural progression and i am unsure as to why they have not done this sooner. They stock tempting sweets that shout 'buy me, buy me' whilst you are queuing - so why not makeup?

As with anything under the Topshop umbrella, i have no doubt that this will be the next 'must have' makeup bag addition for fellow fashionista's. Although with corporations such as L'Oreal owning most of the makeup sector, it will be interesting to see how well the makeup range is received.

One aspect we can be sure of though - Kate Moss will definitely not be the face of this range due to her ties with Rimmel.So who will?

Topflop

So the new Spring Summer range from Kate Moss launched on Thursday, and having looked through the collection, i think it is a bit of a let-down. The clothes aren't anything extraordinary and considering the press the launch received i'm not sure i see what all the fuss is about. I wasn't even impressed with the photo-shoot for the launch!

I hate being so forgetful

Earlier this week was my Vogue interview and the D-Day did not get off to a good start.

Drama 1:
Whilst sorting out what i was going to wear the Sunday before, i realised i had only packed one shoe. This would not seem like a major set back - i am in london, i can go shopping right? Thats all very well if you actually have time before the interview to go shopping...

Drama 2:
I have no time! The monday i was helping out at a photoshoot (see next blog) and was there from 8.30am - 7.30pm and sadly press sample shoes are not my size. So i had to get up at the crack of dawn THE DAY OF MY INTERVIEW and find suitable shoes!

Drama 3:
I have very limited funds to buy new shoes - Primark or New Look are where i pinned my hopes.

The day of the interview it was raining, so i paired the outfit with a pair of black tights and a denim shirt/jacket. I was looking to buy a pair of black heels to match the outfit but, me being me, I did not contemplate the fact that we are now into the Spring/summer season and there would be no plain black heels around.

Drama 5
Seriously Sh**ing myself right now. I could not find any black shoes within budget to match my stupidly summery and ridiculously floaty dress with black tights. By this time it has half 11 and i had one hour to find the shoes and get over to Vogue House.

I did eventually find shoes, but ended up spending over my original budget, and having to buy some accessories to complete the look. These are the shoes:
